Learn To Climb

Rock Climbing is one of the fastest growing sports and something I am passionate about. I believe everyone should try it at least once – you never know, you might discover you love it as much as I do.

Whether you are a beginner, improver or just looking for someone to guide you up a particular route, these rock climbing packages can cater for all levels and abilities. I will give you the confidence to progress at your own pace.

We are ideally placed close to Snowdonia National Park which is home to some of the finest rock climbing in the UK if not the world. There is also a huge variety of rock types and local environments that mean it’s actually possible to find somewhere to climb even in bad weather.

All my Rock Climbing courses are modular so you have total flexibility to decide how many days you want and the more days you book, the cheaper it becomes for you.

Single Pitch Trad Climbing

Climb when ready.

This is a 2 day trad climbing introduction on single pitch routes. Based in North Wales and Snowdonia. The starting point for many rock climbers in the UK is on short rock outcrops or quarried faces that have easy access to the top of the crag. These crags are known as single pitch venues because you only climb a single pitch of rock before returning to the base to repeat the process.

Part of becoming an independent rock climber involves having to be on the sharp end of the rope. This can be a daunting experience if you’ve only ever seconded or top-roped before.

This course is aimed at those who have been mostly seconding routes or top roping who are looking to progress to leading their own routes safely and efficiently.

Under the tuition and guidance of myself or a collegue (depending availabilty) we guarantee you will leave a better, safer climber.

Rock Climber Development

Develop your climbing

If you’re a relatively new climber looking to quickly progress to leading, this 4 day intensive Rock Climber Development course is ideal to immerse yourself in the best rock climbing venues in North Wales (some say the world).

The this course will give you the confidence and technical skill to get you ready for leading your first route through progressive and individual coaching and instruction.

Over the 4 days we may visit world famous venues such as Tremadog, Gogarth and the crags of the Llanberis Pass . If conditions allow, a classic mountain route such as Grooved Arete would be an excellent option too.

Course Content

The week will start with a trip to a single pitch venue like Holyhead Mountain to assess your climbing and belaying ability and also go over climbing fundamentals. depending on your level of skill we will visit a sport venue and at least one multi-pitch climbing venue. The main focus will be on placing lots of protection, building belays, belaying and placing even more protection.

Once I’m happy with your ability to place bomber gear, we will look at getting you on the sharp end of the rope to climb a route of your choice.

This course is run on a 1:2 ratio (max). It is possible to run on a 1 to 1 basis if you cannot find partner as I can source an assistant at no extra cost to you.
