Description

Our Introduction to Scrambling course will show you how to find The most interesting way to the top of a mountain; a ridge or a gully. This is a 1 day course, aimed at those looking to learn how to safely negotiate these routes without the need for rope and equipment. We will spend the day on grade 1 territory so you’ll ideally have some previous experience of hill walking with a good head for heights to get the most out of the course.

Course content:

All our courses are delivered in the mountains of Snowdonia by highly experienced and qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructors.

Depending on the weather, we will spend both days exploring classic scrambles on Snowdon, Y Glyderau or Tryfan. Content covered includes:

  • Route finding and guidebook use

  • Movement skills

  • Navigation

  • Emergency procedures/retreating

The day will start at 9:00 in a cafe in Llanberis to discuss the plans for the day and will finish approx. 4pm.

Equipment needed:

An equipment list will be sent up on booking and any specific safety equipment will be provided.
