Our Climber Progression course is aimed at experienced climbers who are looking to push their grade to the next level. Whether you are a VDiff or VS climber, we will aim to inspire confidence in you to take on the next grade. We will take a look at your climbing to see your strengths and weaknesses to draw up an action plan. This will be followed by a day seconding routes at your limit. The later part of the week will be about preparing you on get on the sharp end of the rope to look at strategies to get you off the grade plateau. All of our courses are based in or around Snowdonia National Park and you will be taught by one of our highly experienced and qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructors (MCI).
Each course will be tailored to your needs and requirements but we will cover the following as a minimum:
- Venue choice
- Using guide book
- Selection and use of equipment
- Placing and removing protection
- Rope management
- Retreating/Abseiling safely
- Handling fear and the “headgame”
We will begin the day at 9am in a cafe to look at options as the weather will dictate where we end up. We should be finished for 4:30pm for a debrief. You don’t need any of your own equipment as it can be provided but you are welcome to bring your own to use. Ratios are 1 instructor to 2 climbers to ensure maximum learning in a realistic setting.
An equipment list will be sent up on booking and any specific safety equipment will be provided.
